hobo & daisy

One quiet little dream of mine is to get my creative venture, hobo and daisy, off the ground. It's been a bit of a slow start, tentatively exploring possibilities, then scaring myself and stepping back for a bit before daring to try again. As such, it's not really pulled itself out of the set-up phase yet, but I'm am getting there, little by little. And that makes me very happy indeed :)

The name and logo seem to have stopped evolving now: what do you think?
I can't tell you how absorbing a design journey it's been; playing around, first with words, then fonts, then colours and image, layout and space.. and it's been a very satisfying one, to boot. I'm so glad I started on it!

My bookcase is currently looking something like this:

The Handmade Marketplace by Kari Chapin, The Right-Brain Business Plan by Jennifer Lee, Making a Living without a Job by Barbara J. Winter.. they're all great!

Still, I doubt I would've started this project at all if it weren't for support from friends & loved ones. Especially fabulous Jo, who gave me a copy of The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. Some day soon I'll be following the course in earnest. Anyone along for the ride?

What are your own quiet little dreams?
And where do/will you find the support & inspiration to follow them?

*btw, if you are on facebook, please feel free to 'like' the hobo and daisy page!*

  1. Hello m'dear... When I saw this on Abby Glassenberg's blog this morning, I thought, "Where have I seen this before?". Here's Kari Chapin's latest. I expect you've got enough books, but thought you might be interested in Abby's interview with her. Abby herself has managed to grow a creative business that meshes (more or less!) with family life. Happy Sunday. I'm off to Creativa!
